74/365 - The Marathon

This past week was a long week with an even longer weekend. We put on a "Disciple Now" weekend for our students and anytime you plan for a youth weekend event you can always count on three things.
1. Someone gets hurt. (5 minutes in DNOW, 3 stitches for Ben)
2. Plans changing (Host home got sick, students moved houses)
3. Drama (such is youth ministry)
So why do they (those men and women who lead, help, and volunteer their time and resources to students) do what we do? We love students and believe that they are worth every stitch, every cough, and every tear that they may give us. We do it to touch a day we'll never see. We want our students to know what an authentic relationship with God is and the infinite joy that He brings.
We realize that our impact on their lives is not a sprint, its a marathon. We don't run because its easy, or even fun at times. I think any parent will tell you the same thing. We run because every step builds strength, character, trust, and love.
We run because we know... we never run alone.
